"Always In Your Corner"
At KMC Legal, we believe that justice is not just about law; it’s about people. It’s about standing beside families when they need someone to listen, to guide, and to fight for their voices to be heard.
This year, our team has been honoured to work closely with the James Bulger Memorial Trust and their powerful initiative, James’ Legacy Line.
James’ Legacy Line was launched to help families affected by tragedy, crime, and loss, who, in their darkest moments, simply need someone to turn to. The helpline offers confidential support, guidance, and, where needed, access to legal expertise.
For James’ mom, Denise Fergus, the mission is deeply personal. She has often spoken about how she wished a service like this had existed when she lost James, a space to seek advice, support, and understanding without fear or judgment. That’s exactly what the James’ Legacy Line provides today.
KMC Legal is proud to play a part in that mission.
Through our partnership with the Trust, we’ve been providing specialist legal guidance to families who contact the helpline, helping them understand their rights, navigate complex justice processes, and, most importantly, have their stories heard.
It’s work that sits at the heart of who we are as a firm. Because when law meets compassion, real change becomes possible.
Yesterday, we were once again reminded of that truth.
Alongside another brave family supported by the James Bulger Memorial Trust, we attended a meeting at the Houses of Parliament with the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Justice, Alex Davies Jones and MP Kevin McKenna.
The meeting was emotional and at times difficult, but it was also incredibly hopeful. The empathy, understanding, and willingness to listen shown by all involved gave this family something they have long deserved: the reassurance that their voices matter.
Our commitment doesn’t end there.
KMC Legal will continue to work with this family and the Trust as we move through the following steps, ensuring that their story not only reaches the right people but also helps create lasting change for others.
At the heart of this work is a simple belief: no family should have to fight alone.
If you are a family that needs advice, feels that you need justice, or wants to be heard, please reach out to KMC Legal or through the James’ Legacy Line.
Together, we can help make your voices heard.

The countdown is on to one of Staffordshire’s most anticipated evenings of the year. On Friday, September 26, Queen of British Soul Beverley Knight will take centre stage at the KMC Legal Charity Ball, held at The Boathouse, Aston Marina.
The star-studded event is raising funds for two vital causes – the James Bulger Memorial Trust and Birmingham Children’s Hospital – with just a handful of tickets still available.
Beverley Knight, who was born in Wolverhampton and has become one of the UK’s most celebrated performers, will headline the evening with her powerhouse vocals and dynamic stage presence. With an Olivier Award, three MOBO Awards, an MBE, and collaborations with legends such as Prince, Chaka Khan, Tom Jones and Marvin Gaye, Beverley remains one of Britain’s most treasured talents.
Speaking ahead of the ball, Kym Morris BCA, Chairwoman of the James Bulger Memorial Trust, said: “We are overjoyed that Beverley is performing for us. She has always supported our charity, and Denise Fergus, James’ mother, is such a huge fan and is also attending the evening. To have Beverley here, in Staffordshire, supporting two causes so close to our hearts, means the world to us. The support from our local community has been incredible. I truly feel that Staffordshire is standing with us.”
Katie McCreath, Founder of KMC Legal, added: “Marking our firm’s fifth anniversary with this ball is incredibly special. As a team, we are passionate about using our platform to give back, and supporting these two charities felt like the perfect way to celebrate. To have Beverley Knight headline the evening is an honour, and I know her performance will make it an unforgettable night for everyone who attends.”
The evening is proudly sponsored by two Staffordshire businesses, Quantum Comms and Techcare, both of whom have helped make the event possible. Guests will enjoy a champagne reception, fine dining, and a line-up of entertainment, with Beverley Knight’s headline performance as the highlight of the night.
The KMC Legal Charity Ball has already seen remarkable support with tickets selling fast, leaving only a limited number remaining.

KMC Legal & Finance is delighted to announce that Techcare and Quantum Comms Group, both based in Rugeley, Staffordshire, have been confirmed as the main sponsors for our upcoming Black Tie & Tiara Charity Ball.
The event will take place on Friday, 26 September 2025, at Aston Marina, Stone, and promises to be a spectacular evening filled with fine dining, live entertainment, and fundraising in support of two very special charities: the James Bulger Memorial Trust and Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
We are incredibly proud that two Staffordshire businesses have chosen to stand with us in making this event possible.
Oliver Aleksejuk, Managing Director at Techcare, explained why the decision to support was such an easy one:
“Supporting the James Bulger Memorial Trust and Birmingham Children’s Hospital was an easy decision for Techcare. Both charities do life-changing work for children and families. As our charity of the year, Birmingham Children’s Hospital especially reflects the values we care about: community, compassion, and making a lasting impact.”
Rob Castles of Quantum Comms Group also shared his support:
“We have been long-term supporters of the James Bulger Memorial Trust and are delighted to be sponsoring this charity ball in Staffordshire. The event will help raise vital funds for two amazing charities, both of which make a real difference to people’s lives.”
KMC Legal & Finance founder, Katie McCreath, said:
“It was important to support causes that are close to people’s hearts and truly change lives. Both Birmingham Children’s Hospital and the James Bulger Memorial Trust embody strength, compassion, and hope. We are proud to stand alongside them.”

KMC Legal and Finance is offering free legal support to anyone affected by the recent infection alert linked to vampire facial treatments at Olivia’s Aesthetics in Wolverhampton.
This week, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) issued a public alert regarding unsafe practices at Olivia’s Aesthetics Wolverhampton (OAW). Clients who underwent platelet-rich plasma (PRP) vampire facials at this clinic are now being urged to arrange free blood tests after it was found that equipment had not been adequately cleaned.
There is a risk of exposure to blood-borne viruses, including hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and HIV. While the UKHSA states that the overall risk is low, the potential health consequences can be severe and life-changing.
At KMC Legal and Finance, we know how distressing this news will be for those affected. We are offering free legal consultations through our dedicated support and advice line:
📞 WhatsApp: 07385 648788
📧 Email: enquiries@kmclegal.co.uk
The popular vampire facial is a treatment in which blood is drawn from the client, processed to extract platelet-rich plasma, and then reinjected into the face to promote skin rejuvenation.
Because the procedure involves handling blood and needles, it must be performed under strict medical hygiene standards. Unfortunately, the investigation at OAW found that equipment had not been adequately sterilised, creating a risk of infection.
If you had a PRP treatment at the Wolverhampton branch of Olivia’s Aesthetics, we strongly encourage you to arrange a free blood test as advised by the UKHSA and to contact our legal team for advice on your rights.
Even if you have not yet tested positive for any virus, the psychological distress, emotional impact, and disruption to family and work life caused by this news can be significant.
You may be entitled to compensation for:
As Katie McCreath, Clinical Negligence Lead at KMC Legal and Finance, says:
“No client should face the fear and uncertainty that this situation has caused. Blood borne viruses can have serious long term consequences. Even where no infection is ultimately found, the emotional and financial impact is very real and must be recognised.”
Our experienced clinical negligence team is already supporting clients affected by this incident and can provide clear, compassionate advice about your options.
We will assess your case on an individual basis and advise you on whether you have grounds to pursue a legal claim for compensation.
Our goal is to ensure that clients affected by this alarming situation receive the support, guidance, and justice they deserve.
If you received a vampire facial or PRP treatment at Olivia’s Aesthetics Wolverhampton, please do not hesitate to reach out.
You can contact our dedicated support and advice line via:
📞 WhatsApp: 07385 648788
📧 Email: enquiries@kmclegal.co.uk
All enquiries will be treated in the strictest confidence and there is no obligation to proceed with a legal claim following your initial consultation.
This case once again raises serious questions about industry standards and regulation in the beauty and aesthetics sector.
“We are calling for tighter regulation to protect consumers,” says Katie McCreath. “Advanced treatments such as PRP procedures should only be performed under properly controlled clinical conditions with full safeguards in place. Incidents like this must not be allowed to happen again.”

Following the overwhelming success of last year’s event, we are delighted to announce the return of the KMC Legal Annual Charity Ball — an elegant evening dedicated to raising funds for two charities that hold deep meaning for our team and community.
Date: Friday 26th September 2024
Venue: The Boathouse at Aston Marina, Staffordshire
Theme: Black Tie & Tiara
This year’s chosen charities are:
Founded by Denise Fergus in memory of her son James, the Trust supports young people who have been affected by crime, bullying, bereavement, or trauma. The charity provides practical help, respite breaks, confidence-building activities, and advocates for change in areas that impact vulnerable children and families. Its work is compassionate and courageous, transforming tragedy into meaningful support for others.
We are honoured to announce that Denise Fergus and her husband, Stuart Fergus, will attend this year’s event as our Guests of Honour. The work they continue to do in James’s name and their unwavering campaign for justice strongly reflect our values at KMC Legal — standing up for the vulnerable and supporting those most in need.
One of the UK’s leading specialist paediatric centres, Birmingham Children’s Hospital delivers critical care to over 90,000 children and families annually. Their ongoing commitment to pioneering treatments, family support, and child-centred care makes an enormous difference to the lives of so many.
This year, we’ve chosen a new venue — The Boathouse at Aston Marina — to help reduce costs and maximise the amount raised for both charities. Every decision has been made with impact in mind, and we believe this event will once again bring people together to make a real difference.
Tickets and sponsorship packages are now available. Whether you’d like to attend, sponsor a table, or donate a prize to the auction or raffle, your support will directly benefit two vital charities.

KMC Legal ventured into new territory for its latest work social event, Houdini's Escape Room Experience. This initiative not only marked a refreshing change from the usual corporate gatherings but also highlighted the firm's innovative approach to fostering teamwork and camaraderie among its esteemed staff. The KMC Legal team was divided into two groups, each tackling a different escape room that promised an adventure almost as thrilling as their casework.
One team unraveled the mysteries of the chilling Room 13, cracking a murder case with a comfortable 12 minutes to spare, while their counterparts narrowly dodged the clutches of a harrowing prison officer to escape from Alcatraz, triumphing with a mere 45 seconds left on the clock. The team's victory has led KMC Legal to incorporate unconventional team-building activities as a regular part of their efforts to foster a positive and collaborative workplace culture.

This event raised over £3,000 but we are excited to announce that we will be doing it all again in 2024! This year's Charity Ball promises to be even bigger with more opportunities for your generosity to shine. We are deeply grateful for any help and support you can provide.

Following our client seeking to sell some of his agricultural land to a developer, it became apparent that the professionals who had previously dealt with the registration of the boundary at HM Land Registry incorrectly dealt with the matter. Despite efforts to resolve with the adjacent land owner, our client was left heavily disadvantaged, losing tens of thousands of pounds.
Following vast correspondence, an early settlement was achieved for our client with those who registered the land, and a contribution to his legal fees.
Our client was ecstatic with the prompt settlement and payment.
