"Always In Your Corner"

Karen Wright

Criminal Defence Solicitor

Karen Wright is a Criminal Defence Solicitor specialising in crime, youth matters, and police station representation. She is an experienced Duty Solicitor with a calm, reassuring approach, supporting clients at what is often one of the most difficult points in their lives.

Karen’s route into law is both distinctive and valuable. She began her career as a bank manager before retraining in law, bringing with her strong judgment, professionalism, and a clear understanding of responsibility. While completing her legal qualifications, she worked for the CPS as a Designated Caseworker. She then completed her training contract in Birmingham and went on to qualify as a solicitor.

Karen spent twelve years as a Legal Adviser within HMCTS, followed by a return to the CPS where she worked as a Senior Crown Prosecutor on the advocacy team. In that role, she regularly conducted cases in court, trained and mentored junior lawyers, and undertook a temporary management position for six months. She moved into defence work fifteen months ago and now brings that depth of prosecution and court experience to her work representing clients.

Clients value Karen for her kindness, care, and compassion, as well as her ability to explain complex court procedures clearly and calmly. She takes time to ensure clients understand the process, the possible outcomes, and their options, whether she is representing them at court or at the police station. Her focus is always on achieving the right outcome through careful preparation and thoughtful advocacy.

Karen particularly enjoys working directly with people and making a genuine difference to their lives. She also has a strong interest in legal research and values the detail and precision that good defence work requires.

Karen believes good legal advice should always be accurate, available, and given with kindness and empathy.
